Brief

Devise a method for safe viewing of the solar eclipse.

Overview

Warning: Looking directly at the sun without protection for even a split second can cause permanent damage.

Devise a method to safely view the solar eclipse. Work in teams of 3. Take 45 minutes to complete this challenge. Feel free to go outside to test your prototype as you build it. As you design, consider the collateral effects or impacts of your decisions.

There are a variety of resources available online where you can learn about methods to make eclipse viewers. Here is one: https://www.sciencefriday.com/educational-resources/five-ways-to-view-the-solar-eclipse/ and another: http://time.com/3737424/solar-eclipse/ and another: https://www.accuweather.com/en/videos/space/how-to-create-your-own-projector-for-the-solar-eclipse/tvzjf3yje6zwrhme_hgjwu6mvsfrttdo

Pay attention to what works and doesn't. Be ready to report on it at the end of the activity.
