Reflect on what you’re learning about the process of designing apps and websites.


Each week, you will have a question to respond to. These questions will be posted to Canvas. The questions will be posted as the semester proceeds but an example of the type of questions will be: “What are your impressions of developers and their process?”

On one of the weeks (near the end of the semester), you will be asked to provide an overview of your evaluative (testing) process. That will be a more involved response and will be worth a higher percentage of your Journal grade.


A written response, submitted via Canvas.


This assignment has a total of 55 points. You will be graded as an individual on the following criteria:

Reflection prompts

5 pts each

Depth of thought

20 pts

Evaluative Testing Prompt

5 pts

Evidence of quality/effective testing (images/video)

5 pts

Evidence that you derived insight from tests

5 pts

Evidence that you responded to test findings

5 pts

Depth of thought regarding testing process


Your grade will be broken down into the categories below*.

Late work

Every assignment in this course will be due at the beginning of the class of its defined due date. Work that is not handed in via all requested methods (OnCourse, email, printed, etc) by the predetermined time will be considered late. The consequences of late submission fall on sliding scale, increasing in severity over time. If late work is handed in within the following parameters, the grade will be reduced in the following ways:

Due date/time – same day, end of class -10%
Same day, end of class – same day, end of day (11:59pm) -15%
Next day (midnight – 11:59pm) -20%
Any subsequent day -50%
